The Supreme Court made several outrageous and outlandish decisions this week – but this issue of deciding great national issues by a narrow Supreme Court majority ruling is far from settled. It is not settled in the hearts of the American people, and it is not settled in the hearts and minds of anyone, whether liberal or conservative or otherwise, who takes a moment to analyze these cases and realize that none of us are safe from capriccios human whim deciding our fate, as opposed to living by clear written principles that we have agreed to broadly, as a nation. We are being told that we must all now come into agreement that five flawed human beings sitting on the Supreme Court, having landed in that position essentially as "winners of the Supreme Court judicial lottery", have made a rational and truthful analysis of what our constitution says -- this Constitution that was written ratified and amended by people steeped in an understanding of and appreciation for Western civilization, a people whose philosophical underpinnings came from a Judeo-Christian Heritage, that these Americans wrote a document that intended to propose as basic human liberties – abortion and gay marriage?

This way of deciding things in our country is not, and should not be , a done deal. The constitutional exercise of article 5 of our Constitution may eventually have the last word on this type of travesty.
