By now, most of you know that I feel strongly that our nation would be best served by the populace believing in and supporting a government structure based on the principles set forth in our United States Constitution - Limited government that regulates and taxes and spends only within prescribed Constitutional boundaries, the equality of each person before the law, a vigorous national defense with secure national borders, with the majority of sovereignty being left with the people and the states and not with an all-powerful central (federal) government. So as the first official votes in this 2016 Presidential (Primary) season have now been cast, I am heartened. The winner of the Republican Presidential contest in Iowa, the first of this year's Presidential contests, was Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is a man who believes in the fundamental values that this nation was founded upon, believes in the principles of our Constitution as it was written and meant to be understood, who believes in the importance of a respect for God and for family. Ted Cruz won despite incredible odds -- entrenched Washington D.C. insiders were dead set against him, big media trashed him, and many wealthy parties backed other candidates and spent millions to knock him out of the race. Ted took it all with dignity, poise, and with a lot of truth and facts--and simply asked common folks who care about this country, to give an honest listen to his "Reaganesque" message of what we can be, as a nation, once again when the American people are allowed to live and function in a society built on the values of our founding and our Constitution. There are a number of others in this Republican race that I also appreciate and respect and would be quite happy to see as our next President and Commander in Chief. But at this point in time, my first choice was also the first choice of the first Americans to have the honor of casting their votes for the person they hope will be the 2016 Republican nominee for President -- Texas Senator Ted Cruze.
Blessings always,
Ricky
