First big Republican presidential debate tonight...
Time to speak up again...
Like so many of us constitutional conservatives, we have done everything we could do to block the unconstitutional destruction of our country spearheaded by Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress. In 1994, we elected a Republican House of Representatives which did dramatically affect the policy direction of Bill Clinton in a healthy way that benefited all Americans (positive results that were touted by Bill Clinton as his own even though his support of those policies had become for him a political necessity rather than stemming from his initiative or preference). I ran for Congress twice in the late 1990s, so I have seen the system close-up. Then more recently, I tried to do my part to promote the big Republican wins in 2010, and then the Republicans reclaiming the Senate in 2014. I have been utterly disgusted and disheartened by the recent Republican leadership that has taken those two incredible victories, and done absolutely nothing with it – no serious confrontation of the policies of Barack Obama and the Democrat party that are synonymous with socialism (the current spokesman for the Democratic Party could not come up with a distinction between the current Democratic Party, and socialism – understandable!). Democrats (and complicit Republicans) have created a nearly borderless nation that allows (essentially encourages) dangerous illegals to prey on Americans, physically and economically, while actively dismantling our military defenses, and ignoring the barbarian and genocidal march of ISIS. As well, Mr. Obama's administration and his supporters (today's Democratic Party) insist on building up and essentially promoting the nuclear capabilities and economic might of Iran, while causing our greatest ally in the Middle East (Israel) to become truly existentially vulnerable. So while I have some favorite Republican candidates for president within the "political class" (especiallyTed Cruz), I am entirely open to something/someone outside of the current political class, that group of "leaders" that has let us down so badly recently. In times past, I would never have given someone like Donald Trump or Ben Carson (or Carly Fiorina) a second look – but I do now (and I do this, I believe, for good reason. These non-political class candidates are truly untethered to the current system, and willing to do whatever is necessary to shake things up and boldly move us back (which can move us truly forward) towards constitutional and existential sanity.
May God bless us, and this wonderful nation we've been blessed to inherit,
